Steve was someone very special to me. When I dated Danny Weinberger, Steve was his best friend. We spent a lot of time together, going to harness races, movies, whatever. Steve was the best man at our wedding. Danny and Steve were stationed at Quonset Point together and he spent many times at our place. Danny and I divorced but I still stayed in contact with Steve. I remarried and we bought the house across the street from Steve. My husband and I spent many nights hanging at Steve's with his parents or they came over to our place. When our family grew we moved, stayed in contact for some time but slowly grew apart. I would see him from time to time. I am sorry he is no longer with us but I know he is playing at least eighteen holes every day. Rest in peace ole friend❤

My Dad (Rus Esler) used to take me over to see Steve and shoot pool when I was a little girl! I often remember Steve picking me up so I could reach the pool table and hold me while I took my shot!!! Meathead was one of my very first memories and boyo were they good ones. As I got older I ALWAYS thought about Steve. I wondered where he was, what he was doing, etc. Thank you Steve for the memories you left me,,,,I will cherish them forever. RIP

I was sad to learn of Steve’s passing. I’m sorry I missed his service, but I learned after the fact or I would have attended. I have known Steve my whole life as we were across the street neighbors. I remember his parents fondly as well. He was always very kind and helpful to my parents and we kept in touch after both were gone. He was always a gentleman and had a great sense of humor. I have the Christmas card he sent me this past Christmas, so this was quite a shock. He will be missed and fondly remembered. My condolences to his family. Carol (Plageman) Leiter Rob Leiter
