Betty Ann (Marble) Gottschalk, age 93, a 66-year resident of Roslyn, PA died peacefully on Sunday August 20, 2023, at LifeQuest in Quakertown, PA. Born on November 20, 1929, in Great Valley, NY, Betty was the beloved youngest daughter of the late Frank W. Marble and the late Ada B. (Nagle) Marble. Her sister Gloria Jean (Marble) Martin and her brother William Warren Marble proceeded her in death. Betty was raised on a farm in NY, until she left home for the Millard Filmore School of Nursing, near Buffalo, NY, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. Drawn by the ocean and beach, she relocated to NJ, to begin her nursing career at Atlantic City Hospital. It was in AC where she met a Sailor, Frederick Julius Gottschalk, they married in 1952, he proceeded her in death. Betty, with Fred, made their home and raised their family in Roslyn, PA. Betty continued her nursing career with Abington Hospital, a Psychiatric Hospital, Doctors' offices, and home care. She was a great Mother and homemaker, a cherished friend and a respected colleague. A caring woman that made a difference in the lives of so many. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Barbara Brecher, William and Margaret Mary (Gibbons) Gottschalk, Carol and John Ward, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, William (Abby) Gottschalk with Finnley and Millie, Kathryn (Luciano) Trujillo with Lucie, Timothy (Lauren) Gottschalk, Joseph Gottschalk, and Maggie (Spencer) Reid with Garrett, Ford, and Levi. And by her nephew & nieces and the many others who have considered her as their "adopted" Mom. She lived a long, admirable, fulfilled and interesting life. Blessed with family and friends, she found and made happiness in life's simple pleasures. Betty loved nature and all of God's creatures. Be it barefoot at the water's edge, hands digging in the dirt, or gazing at the stars, she took comfort and had a connection with heaven and the earth. Gardening, sewing, arts & crafts, reading, travelling, visiting, cooking, entertaining, and her kitty cats over the years were among some of the things that made her happy. She was full of love for and most proud of her family and the home life that she made for them. She cherished her friendships, both her lifelong friends and her new ones. Betty lovingly devoted herself to family, friends, and her nursing career.
