Obituary of Deidra A. Ewerth

Deidra A. Ewerth, age 70, a resident of Roslyn for 38 years, passed away on August 24, 2022 after an eleven month battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Ewerth, Jr. for 46 years. Born in Albany, NY, she was the loving daughter of the late David and Vera (née Lints) Millington. She graduated from Guilderland Central High School in 1970 and Washington Bible College in 1974, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Bible. Deidra was a schoolteacher for several years and then spent time as a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for family, spending time outdoors gardening, and sewing. In addition to her husband, Robert, Deidra is survived by her loving children and their spouses: John and Margaret Ewerth of Willow Grove, PA, Karen Ewerth of Nairobi, Kenya, and Sandy and Jathan McReavy of Fort Myers, Florida; by her brother, David Millington of Naples, Florida; by her sister, Denise Ghostlaw of Rhinecliff, New York; and by 5 grandchildren, Megan, Cara, Jocelynn, Jaxen, and Jude. A Memorial Service will be held at on Saturday, September 3, 2022, 11:00 a.m., Trinity Community Church (formerly Faith Community Church), 1200 Easton Road, Roslyn, where friends and family will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to West Nairobi School (where Deidra’s daughter Karen is a missionary teacher) would be appreciated.
