Obituary of Phyllis Shadle Barbin

Phyllis Shadle Barbin, age 93, a resident of Spring House Estates, and formerly of Maple Glen, died on December 4, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry C. Barbin for 65 years. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Luther W. Shadle and the late Ethel Z. Twist. She graduated from Cheltenham High School in 1946 and was the owner of PJ's Flowers, Inc. located in Maple, Glen, PA. Phyllis was a founding member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Maple Glen, where she originated, organized and managed the church Christmas bazaar for over 25 years. She found enjoyment in shopping, reading, traveling, dining out, entertaining, playing cards, summers in Ocean City, NJ, attending performances at the Keswick Theatre, but most importantly, spending time with her family and friends and her beloved Yorkie, Sparkle. She is survived by her loving children; Harry C. Barbin, III of Clearwater, FL, Sheryl A. Barbin of Clearwater, FL and Andrew T. and Allison Barbin of Elkton, MD, by her seven dear grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and by her brother, Paul W. Shadle of Villages, FL. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, December 18, 2021, St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 919 Tennis Avenue, Maple Glen, PA. Relatives and friends will be received in the church from 10:00 until 11:00 and at a reception after the service. Interment in Memorial Gardens of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church will be held immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Victory Hope Foundation FBO St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Maple Glen.
