Obituary of Margaret Edith Adams

Margaret Edith (Laing) Adams, affectionately known as Peb, of Bryn Athyn, PA passed away on July 13, 2021. She was 86 years old. A former school secretary and a retired Pastor's Office secretary, Peb's life was devoted to helping others and serving the Bryn Athyn Community, visiting with friends, and raising her children. Later in life, she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Peb grew up in Southampton, PA and was the eldest daughter of James Myles Laing and Margaret Ann (Dunlap) Laing. She was a graduate of the Class of 1952, Upper Southampton-Warminster High School, now William Tennant High School. Senior year, Peb was voted May Queen and received the Art Award. Following graduation, Peb worked as the school secretary for four years and then worked as a switchboard operator at Quaker City Gear, Bethayres, PA. In 1974, Peb, while raising her family, began working as a secretary of the Bryn Athyn Church and the Pastor's Office. She retired in May 2011. She married F. Mason Adams, Jr. on July 12th, 1957. They raised their family and enjoyed serving their community. Peb loved collecting eagles, going to garage sales, baking, making wedding cakes, and vacationing with her family in Cape May, NJ. Peb was preceded in death by her husband, Mace and son, Michael who died as an infant. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James (Susan), Randall (Kimberley), Gary (Lisa), and Andrew (Rachel) and by her sisters June Ann (Laing) Magro and Linda Lee Laing, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Peb is remembered by family and friends as a kind, loyal, loving, and generous women, with a wonderful sense of humor. A memorial service for Peb will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 15th, 2021 at the Bryn Athyn Cathedral, 900 Cathedral Road, Bryn Athyn, PA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bryn Athyn Church, P.O. Box 277, Bryn Athyn, PA 19009.
