Gwendolyn Martin Gearhart, a resident of Jenkintown for 57 years died on February 12, 2021 at home. Her loving husband Walter R. Gearhart, Jr, to whom she was married 55 years predeceased her in 2004. Gwen was born in Abington, PA and was the daughter of the late Rowena Shoemaker Martin and William Martin. After attending Abington High School, Mrs. Gearhart raised her four children and helped manage Gearhart Tree Service, the family business A Masonic League Rainbow Girl, Mrs. Gearhart was one of the longest members of the Abington Presbyterian Church where she met her husband while they were both in Sunday school. Mrs. Gearhart loved all the activities that surrounded her by her growing family. "Mimi" - as she was fondly called by her grandchildren, especially enjoyed the many summers she spent with her family in Avalon, NJ. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses; Donna G. Rogers (Jonathan) of Destin Florida, Walter R. Gearhart, III of Dresher, PA, Jeffrey W. Gearhart (Kari) of Springhouse, PA, and Wendy G. Pietrucha (Robert) of Bridgewater, NJ.; her grandchildren Jamie, Todd, Justin, Kendall, Greg, Lauren, Tyler, Victoria, Robert Jr. and Bradley; and by her sister Rowena M. Gibbins of Abington. A private memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on February 16, 2021 at Abington Presbyterian Church.
