Obituary of Jean Kathryn Histand

Jean K. Histand, age 87, a resident of Spring House Estates for 13 years, and previously of Willow Grove, died on February 8, 2020. She was the devoted wife of the late Ernest G. Histand. Born in Doylestown, Jean was the daughter of the late Olin M. Harris and the late Flora Layman Harris and was a graduate of Doylestown High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jean was a member of the Trinity Community Church (formerly Faith Community Church) for 60 years, where she was involved in the library, DVBS (Daily Vacation Bible School), Pioneer Clubs and ran the kitchen. She enjoyed making crafts at Spring House Estates as well as watching the Phillies and the Eagles. She is survived by her children, Deborah L. and Robert King of Harrisburg, PA and Barry Histand of North Wales, PA; by her grandchildren, Greg King, Lori Histand, Ashlee and John Richards and Josh and Chelsea King; by four great-grandchildren and by her brothers, Bill Harris of Lititz, PA, Dick Harris of Hanover, PA and Bob Harris of Dublin, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Trinity Community Church, 1200 Easton Road, Roslyn, PA 19001, where relatives and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Bethesda Mission, P.O. Box 3041, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
