Obituary of Marjorie Scheuerle Fish
Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marjorie Scheuerle Fish, age 97, of Rydal, PA, died on September 7, 2018. She was the devoted wife of the late Eugene C. Fish for 63 years, until his death in 2011, and mother of Shirley, Alan and Bob.
Marge grew up in Glenside, and attended the Business School of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music where she studied piano. Along with her family, music was her deep and abiding love. She was a gifted pianist and musician who shared her talents by entertaining patients at Abington Hospital and other hospitals through the Red Cross music group, and accompanying the Jenkintown Music Theater and many vocalists.
She was an active and devoted volunteer and philanthropist, serving on boards and volunteering with Abington Hospital, Jenkintown Day Nursery, Jenkintown Methodist Church and the Philadelphia Orchestra. She was also an accomplished Braille transcriber for the blind.
She loved Ocean City, NJ, where she and Gene spent summers for most of their married life, and generously entertained family and friends. And she was a great animal lover, particularly of her many pet dogs over the years.
Marge was a loving and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cared deeply and generously for her extended family. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Kirchner, her sons Alan and Robert Fish; her grandchildren, Jill Simpson, Karen Martin and Chris Kirchner; her great-grandchildren Forrest, Peter, Owen and Ben; her brother, Robert E. Scheuerle; and four nieces, Janet, Carol, Ellen and Linda.
