Obituary of Paul Stetson Norris

PAUL STETSON NORRIS, age 84, a resident of the Baederwood section of Abington Township for over 40 years, died on November 2, 2015. He was the devoted husband of the late June E. Taylor Norris for 52 years, until her death in 2007. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Paul was the son of the late Paul Norris and the late Ann Woodruff Stetson Norris and was a great-grandson of the late John B. Stetson, the hat manufacturer. A graduate of Cape May High School, Paul studied Economics at The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1959. Paul began his service with the US ARMY in 1952. He served in Germany as Corporal and was honorably discharged in 1953. He received the Army of Occupation Medal of Germany and National Defense Service Medal. Paul was an International Credit Specialist with Sun Oil Company for 30 years before retiring in 1989. His early working years were spent with The John B. Stetson Hat Company in Philadelphia. Paul was a 54-year member of Abington Presbyterian Church, where he served as Elder, Deacon and Usher. He enjoyed skeet and trap shooting and will be remembered for his love of trains, planes and automobiles and for his extensive knowledge of World War II. He is survived by his loving children and their spouses: John Stuart and Ellen Alexander Norris of Palm City, FL and Mary Brooke and Karl Seiler Murray of Rydal, PA and by his four dear granddaughters: Emily Taylor Norris, Kathryn Ellen Norris, Allison Brooke Murray and Charlotte Seiler Murray.
