FRANK HUNTER "DOC" GUINN, D.O., age 77, a resident of Huntingdon Valley died on August 22, 2014. He was the devoted husband of the late Inez Cordelia Nicely-Guinn for 29 years until her death in 2013. Frank was born in Camden, NJ. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1954, Frank worked as a Cancer Research Assistant with Wyeth Labs at Hahnemann Medial College. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Albright College in 1959 and then earned his Education requirements from Rowan University. He taught Science in the Cherry Hill School District from 1961-1972. Frank earned his Doctorate from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1976 and completed his internship there in 1977. His residency was with Metropolitan Hospital in Philadelphia. In 1980, he began a private practice in Internal Medicine and while in private practice, Dr. Quinn was also a Hospital Consultant and served as Medical Director for Green Acres Health System from 1995- 2002. He retired from private practice in 2001. He received certifications from the American Association of Osteopathic Specialists Internal Medicine in 1988 and Geriatric Medicine in 1991. He was awarded the title of Fellow from the American Association of Osteopathic Internists in 1990 and from the American Academy of Gerontology in 1998. His military service began in 1958 when he enlisted with the US Army. He graduated from Officer Candidate School in 1960. He served with the US Army Infantry Division from Private to Commissioned Officer and was honorably discharged as in 1967 as Captain, US Army. Professionally, he was a member of Philadelphia County Osteopathic Medicine Society and served as Secretary-Treasurer from 1986-1999, member of PA Osteopathic Medicine Association and served as President in 1993, member of American Osteopathic Association and served as delegate from 1981-1999, Member of American Association of Physician Specialists and served as President from 1996-1997. He served as Chief of Staff for Parkview Hospital from 1995-1997, Chief of Staff for Philadelphia City Line Hospital in 1995, President of the Survivor's Club of PCOM in 1977, Cherry Hill New Jersey Education Association President in 1969, President of The Welsh Society of Philadelphia from 1976-1979 and President from 1990-1992 of Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. His active life as a Mason began in 1958 when he became a member of Universal Lodge F & AM in 1958 and later Worshipful Master of that lodge in 1993. He was also a member of LuLu Shrine Temple, Kensington-Kadosh York Rite Commandery, Abington Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Bucks County Shrine Club, Montgomery County Scottish Rite Club, Legion of Honor, LuLu Shrine, Benjamin Franklin Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Royal Order of Jesters, High Twelve Club, Order of the Red Cross Constantine, National Sojourners along with almost every other Club at LuLu Shrine. Friends are invited to call from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington. Masonic Service will begin at 10:15 AM and Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to either St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 ( www.stjude.org) or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3551 N.
