Obituary of Jane Alice Tamaccio

Please share a memory of Jane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
JANE H. TAMACCIO (nee Hillebrand), age 88, died at her home, with immediate family members by her side, on December 28, 2013 after a three-year illness of ovarian cancer. She was the beloved wife of David L. Tamaccio, for 67 years. Her courage and strength throughout her illness were accompanied by an outpouring of love and support from a wide circle of adoring friends. An extensively trained and accomplished pianist and artist, throughout her life, Jane taught piano and art privately in her home and obtained a Master's Degree in Humanities from Arcadia University in 1982. Her work with autistic and emotionally challenged children was pioneering in the 1970's and 80's when families had few or no resources in the field of art and music therapy. Jane also pioneered in community art and concert organizations bringing internationally renowned and young musicians alike to Abington and Greater Philadelphia stages. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: David Tamaccio and his wife Janice; by her twin sons: Lee Tamaccio and Laurence Tamaccio; by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, on January 11, 2014, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, PA, where friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A reception, at Huntingdon Valley Country Club, will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hanjani Institute for Gynecologic Oncology, Abington Memorial Hospital, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001.
