Obituary of Inez Cordelia Nicely-Guinn

Inez Cordelia Nicely-Guinn, age 79, a resident of Huntingdon Valley, PA died on January 1, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Frank H. Guinn, III, D.O. for 29 years. Born in Monaca, PA, she was the daughter of the late David James Nicely and the late Esther Morrison Nicely. After graduating from Monaca High School, Inez studied Medical Technology and earned her Bachelor's degree from Temple University. She later studied Chemistry and earned a second Bachelor's degree from Temple University. Inez began her working career as a Medical Technologist at Temple University Hospital in their blood bank. She later took a position with the American Red Cross as their Chief Technologist. She was certified with the AABB, a United States-based professional body and standards organization that was founded in 1947 as the American Association of Blood Banks. She retired in 1995. After retirement, Inez enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, a benevolent international fraternal organization for women who are related by birth or marriage to Shriners. She was a member of Gloria Dei Church in Huntingdon Valley. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Donald Nicely, M.D.; by her nephew, Daniel Nicely; by her dear friends, Dr. Charles and Joy Reed and their children, Col. Brian Reed, Mark Reed and Cheryl Reed; by her cousin Arnold Palmer; by family friends in the Greensburg, PA and Latrobe, PA areas and by many dear friends. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and on Tues, Jan. 8, 2013 from 10:00 -11:00 AM, Baron Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
