Obituary of Frank Pierce Felton

FRANK PIERCE FELTON, III, age 84, a resident of Rydal Park Retirement Community in Jenkintown and of Ocean City, NJ died, after a brief illness, on December 10, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Boyd Felton. Born in Philadelphia, Frank was the son of the late Frank P. Felton, Jr. and of the late Margaret Marjerison Felton. He graduated from Germantown Friends School and later attended Swarthmore College. He began a 16-year career with J.T. Jackson Co. Realtors in 1948, where he served as President for the last four years that he was with the company. In 1964, he joined Olney Federal Savings and Loan as Vice President, four years later he became President and Chief Executive Officer and in 1986 became the Chairman of the Board. Frank gave generously of his time to his community. Among his many community commitments, he was chairman of the Abington YMCA. At Jenkintown United Methodist Church, he served as President of the Board of Trustees and served on the Finance Committee. He was a life-time member of the board of trustees of the Ocean City Tabernacle. He served as past commodore of the Ocean City Yacht Club and was active at Rydal Park Retirement Community, where he lived for the past 20-years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving daughters and their husbands: Donna and Leif Liberg and Meg and Tim Foley and by his dear grandchildren; Leif Christian and Jocelyn Liberg, Daniel and Jennifer Liberg, T. J. Foley, Kevin Foley and Michael Foley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Brous Felton and by his son, Frank P. Felton, IV. He is also survived by his step-children: Martha Scache, Evelyn Taylor and Scott Taylor and their families. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2012, Jenkintown United Methodist Church, 328 Summit Avenue (at Walnut Street) Jenkintown, PA, where friends will be received from 9:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery.
