Obituary of Raymond E. Tippett

Raymond E. Tippett, age 90, an 11-year resident of Normandy Farms Estates in Blue Bell, and formerly of Fort Washington died on December 3, 2012. He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred Feeser Tippett for 45-years, until her death in 1992. Born in raised in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Russell H. Tippett and the late Geneva Kelley Tippett and the brother of the late John W. "Jack" Tippett. Ray graduated from Roxborough High School in 1940 and later studied at the College of Advanced Traffic. He served in the Pacific Theater and Guadal Canal as Sergeant, with the US Army, during World War II. Ray was employed as Traffic Manager for Hobson Packaging Company. He was a member of the Traffic Club of Philadelphia and was a member of the Meat Packers Association. Ray was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Fort Washington, where he served for several terms as Elder. Ray was an avid and loyal fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and of the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. He was also an avid and gifted golfer. He is survived by his brother, Stanley Tippet and by nieces and nephews. Funeral service will beheld at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 8, 2012, Baron Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, where friends will be received from 10:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Billy Graham World Emergency Fund, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201-0001 (BillyGraham.org)
