Obituary of Donald Howard Eddy

DONALD HOWARD EDDY, age 79, a 10-year resident of Normandy Farms Estates in Blue Bell and formerly of Dresher and Fort Washington died on August 4, 2012. He was the devoted husband of Nancy A. Zinke Eddy for 56 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Howard R. Eddy and the late Mary Lenker Eddy.
After graduating from Germantown High School in 1950, Don studied Civil Engineering at Drexel University, where he earned his bachelors degree in 1955 and master's degree in 1959. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi and Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternities. Don was the recipient of the William Penn Troth Award.
Don worked for Lotz Designers Engineering and Construction, Inc. in Horsham, PA for 45 years. He retired in 2000, as President of Design and Construction. He was a member of the Engineers Club of Philadelphia and Federation of Engineers and Carpenters of Philadelphia.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Friendship Williams Lodge # 400, and a member of Bucks County Shrine Club and Lu Lu Temple.
Don was a 47-year member of Jarrettown United Methodist Church, where he served on the Staff Parish Relations Committee and served as Trustee for the Capital Task Force.
He enjoyed traveling, model trains and gardening and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Douglas C. Eddy and his wife, Melissa of North Wales, PA; by his six dear grandchildren and by his sister, Kathryn DiFrancisco. He was preceded in death by his son, David B. Eddy in 2006 and by his son, Craig H. Eddy in 1958.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in the Auditorium of Normandy Farms Estates, 9000 Twin Silo Drive, Blue Bell, PA. A luncheon will follow the service. Committal service in Whitemarsh Memorial Park will be held privately.
