Obituary of Barbara Heppe Glueck

Barbara Heppe Glueck, age 84, entered eternal life on Sunday, July 15, 2012. She was residing in Luther Woods Convalescent Center in Hatboro, PA following a stroke which occurred last December. She was married to the late Franklin P. Glueck from 1951 until his death in 1990. Born in Oreland, PA, she was the daughter of Joseph Heppe and Viola Jepson Heppe. Barbara graduated from Springfield High School in 1949 and attended Hamilton School of Music in Philadelphia, singing professionally and in church services. She was a resident of Abington, PA for 57 years, a member of Abington Presbyterian Church, and a faithful fan of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Barbara was the proud mother of two Eagle Scouts. She loved music, gardening, natural health, the seashore, and spending time with her family. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her brother, Charles, her three children: daughter Cynthia and husband Joseph Sterrett, son Dr. David Glueck, and son Brian Glueck and wife Sondra, along with nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and companion Ed Weaver with whom she shared and enjoyed many activities. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 20, 2012, Abington Presbyterian Church, Old York and Susquehanna Roads, Abington, PA. Friends will be received in the Parish Hall after the service. Entombment in West Laurel Hill Cemetery will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the music program at Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001.
