Edythe Mary Farlow, 96 of Jenkintown formerly of Philadelphia died on February 28, 2012. Born August 8, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Winfield and Fannie Haimerl (nee Harrison). She was preceded in death in 1982 by her husband of 42 years, Hayworth L. Farlow, and in 2001 by her beloved daughter, Barbara Ann Wengert. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Serafin (Joseph) of Souderton, PA and Charlotte Farlow of Morristown, NJ, sister, June Robinson of Southampton, PA, grandchildren Emily Dickan (Jasen) of New York, NY and David Wengert of Philadelphia PA, former son-in-law, Timothy J. Wengert (Ingrid) of Riverton, NJ, nephew, John Robinson (Bobbi) of Churchville, PA, niece, Margaret Lutz (Charles) of Albrightsville, PA, and her companion, Susan Freimanis of Philadelphia. Edythe grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. After graduating from Peirce Business College, Edythe worked for her father's firm, Repel-A-Rain Company in Manayunk. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Worth, an executive with Johnson & Johnson whose career enabled them to live in England and travel the world. She was a loving mother and meticulous homemaker who took pride in her home and the many achievements of her three daughters and grandchildren. Edythe enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, playing bridge, cooking, and solving crossword puzzles. Memorial service will be at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Baron Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, where friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Phila. PA 19103.
