Dear Sons and family.... I am so sorry to learn of your dear Mother's passing. My daughter Sarah Ballard studied with Lou for a number of years and as we lived way up near NYC having been formerly in the Philly area, I would drive her back for 7 years...and wait in the living room while she took her lessons. Renate would always come visit for a few minutes and we would chat about anything and everything.... I had always hoped to get back to the area where we hope to retire soon and to invite her for lunch. I knit her a silver white and pale blue scarf when Lou passed...because I told her it reminded me of his eyes and her hair and their deep abiding love for each other. I will remember them both always for the truly wonderful folks they were and the incredible talents they both had and the many kindnesses they shared to all whom they knew.
