Obituary of Doris M. Boerner
Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Doris Boerner, beloved wife of the late Stewart Boerner, Jr., passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at her residence at Wesley Enhanced Living in Doylestown, PA just months shy of what would have been her 100th birthday.
Doris was widely known for her lifelong dedication to Scouting, serving as both a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother. A true friend to many, she found great joy in games, with dominoes, bridge and pinochle among her favorites. Doris was a lifelong and dedicated member of Abington Presbyterian Church, and she enjoyed many activities with fellow friends there.
Her passion for baking, especially her famous cookies, was a hallmark of every holiday. Doris took immense pride in her extensive cookie cutter collection and cherished the years spent baking alongside her grandchildren. When not in the kitchen, she could often be found enjoying the beaches of Ocean City and Cape May, NJ. An admirer of lighthouses, Doris possessed a remarkable ability to identify nearly everyone along the Northeast Coast at a single glance. She loved her family and friends dearly; she will be sorely missed. The world is a better place because of the love that she shared.
An amazing mother and grandmother, Doris is survived by her children, David Boerner and Lynda Koopman; son-in-law, Steve Koopman; cherished grandsons: Evan Boerner, Travis Boerner and Aaron Boerner. She is also survived by her brother, William McFarland, and his wife Carolyn.
Service and interment in Whitemarsh Memorial Park will be held privately.
