In Loving Memory of Patricia Rose Miller

A Life Rooted in Love and Service

Patricia Rose Miller (Snare), 94, of Ambler, PA, passed away in Naples, FL, on February 16, 2026, while spending the winter in Marco Island – a place she cherished for 55 years.

Born in Schenectady, NY, to George and Helena Snare, Pat was the beloved little sister of Robert Snare. She attended Mont Pleasant High School before studying nursing at St. John's Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1952, beginning a lifetime of caring for others.

Pat was the devoted wife of Samuel Miller, Jr., with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. She met Sam through family friends, and from their very first dinner together, he was smitten. Eleven months later, he proposed, and they married on June 26, 1954.

Together they built a warm, welcoming home in Meadowbrook, PA, raising their four children – Bruce, Lori, Tricia, and Suzanne – and spending summers in Ocean City, NJ.

Pat was a stay-at-home mom until returning to nursing as a rehab nurse in 1972. She poured herself into her children's lives, serving as a Girl Scout leader and creating a home where everyone felt welcome. Pat loved meeting people, volunteering, and helping others.

Faith was central to her life. At St. John's Church in Huntingdon Valley, PA, she shared her love of God with everyone she met and made sure the children in her life received their monthly Daily Bread devotionals.

Pat had a gift for "adopting" people – sending cards, notes, and birthday gifts to children who had lost grandparents or never had them. Her generosity was quiet, steady, and deeply felt.

For 19 years, Pat made her home at Springhouse Estates in Spring House, PA, where she volunteered, visited friends, drove neighbors to appointments, and delivered her famous smoothies. She loved being outdoors, walking the grounds, and connecting with everyone she met.

Her happiest place was the beach. In Marco Island, she became known as the "Old Sheller," strolling the shoreline with her walker while collecting thousands of shells. She knew every type of shell and enjoyed sharing her knowledge – and her collection – with others.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helena Snare; her brother, Robert Snare; her husband, Samuel Miller Jr.; her son in law Jeffrey Tennant, and her grandson, Luke Miller. She is survived by her children – Bruce Miller (Heide), Lori Isaac (Russ), Tricia Tennant (Scott McDonald), and Suzanne Young (Tom); thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all she touched.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, St. John's Anglican Church, 1150 Bristol Road, Southampton, PA, where relatives and friends will be received from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. John's Episcopal Church of Our Saviour Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Additionally, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026, Springhouse Estates Auditorium, 728 Norristown Rd, Spring House, PA.
