Obituary of John Miles Rarick

John Miles Rarick, 89, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026. He was born on November 6, 1936, in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, and lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and service.
John spent more than 55 years in Abington, Pennsylvania, where he and his beloved wife, Joan H. Rarick, built their home and raised their family. In recent years, he resided in Marietta, Georgia. Joan preceded him in death, and their enduring partnership remained a cornerstone of John's life.
He is survived by his siblings Richard Rarick (Rose) and Diane Rarick Madeira (Frank). He was preceded in death by his brother Stewart Rarick (Christine), his father John Allen Rarick and his mother, Grace Gertrude Rarick.
John was a devoted father to John E. Rarick (Amy), June Rarick Karaborni (Sami), and Janet Rarick Park (Jeong). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Emily Rarick Ruffin (Ben), Jake Rarick (Candace), Faris Karaborni (Jessica), Tijani Karaborni (Doug), Maryam Karaborni, Benjamin Comins, and Lucy Comins, all of whom brought him great joy.
John honorably served four years in the United States Navy before pursuing his education at The Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a degree in accounting. He went on to obtain his CPA license and enjoyed a long and respected career in the profession. After working as a CPA, he fulfilled his professional dream by opening his own accounting practice in Roslyn, Pennsylvania, which he operated successfully for over 15 years before retiring.
A man of deep faith, John was very active in The Living Word Lutheran Church in Roslyn, PA, where he found community and purpose. He cherished time spent with Joan at the New Jersey shore, as well as visits to Orwigsburg, PA, where family clam bakes and holiday gatherings created lasting memories.
John will be remembered for his integrity, kindness, quiet humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His legacy lives on through his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 14, 2026, Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Road, Abington, PA 19001.
