Obituary of George Alan Vonhof

George A. Vonhof, age 89, a resident of Normandy Farms Estates in Blue Bell, PA, and formerly of Willow Grove, PA, died on February 7, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Shirley Veenje Vonhof for 65 years.

Born on July 16, 1936, in Rochester, NY, George was the son of the late George Vonhof and the late Susan Feenstra Vonhof.

After graduating from Penfield High School in Penfield, NY, George went on to earn his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and his master's degree from Clarkson University.

In 1955, George joined the United States Air Force where he served as an Air Traffic Controller in Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1958.

George worked for the Burroughs Corporation in Rochester, NY, until 1971, when he moved his family to Pennsylvania. He worked for several companies in the Philadelphia area over the next 20 years before going to work for himself as a consulting engineer in 1992.

He was a member of Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and worked with the Presbytery of Philadelphia for decades. He was also a member of the board at Phil-Mont Christian Academy for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children and their spouses: Michelle A. and Larry Orr, Christopher G. and Hillary Vonhof and Gwendolyn R. and Mike Ludwig; his dear grandchildren: Caitlin Orr, Ryan Orr, Shannon Ludwig, Emma Ludwig, Jonathan Vonhof, Jacob Vonhof, and Abigail Vonhof; and by his sisters, Susan Bratt and Mary Metzler. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Vonhof and Stephen Vonhof and sister, Judith Steensma.

A memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on February 13, 2026, at Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 151 W. County Line Road Hatboro, PA 19040, where relatives and friends will be received after the service.

Interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery will take place privately.
