Obituary of Tony Ciliberto
Anthony Joseph Ciliberto, age 82, passed away on January 10, 2026.
For the past 20 years, he resided in Pot-Nets Lakeside, DE and formerly resided in Roslyn, PA. He was the beloved husband of Virginia Drennan Ciliberto for 59 years.
Born on June 18, 1943 in Taylor, PA, Tony was the son of the late Joseph Ciliberto and the late Angeline Tullo Ciliberto.
He graduated from Old Forge High School in 1961 and later attended Penn State University. In 1962, he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in California and Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1966 as Lance Corporal.
His 34 years career in law enforcement was with Abington Township Police Department, where he was a tactical and firearms instructor and member of the SWAT team. He retired in 2001 as Corporal.
He was a member of Marine Corps League, Fraternal Order of Police and American Legion.
He enjoyed reading, fishing, model building and sports. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Ginny, he is survived by his children and their spouses: Kelly and Michael Jones, Anthony J. Ciliberto, Jr. and John R. and Stacey Ciliberto; sister, Joann Menichello; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene Smigiel.
Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 22, 2026, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1500 Old York Road, Abington, where relatives and friends will be received from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
