Obituary of Donald Joesph Preshong

Donald J. Preshong, age 61, a resident of the northeast section of Philadelphia, passed away suddenly on December 2, 2025. Don, affectionately known as "Big Don with the ponytail", was the beloved husband of Gennifer Clemens Preshong for 22 years. Born in Irvington, New Jersey, Don was the son of the late Albert Preshong and the late Elizabeth Rieder. Don was employed in the construction, maintenance and swimming pool industries, along with being a bouncer at multiple bars in the city. Don was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed gambling, drawing and telling jokes. He was known to be the best storyteller and advice giver. Don's love of music was everything to him and his knowledge of songs was like no other. In addition to his wife, Gennifer, he is survived by his son, Dalton, and his two sisters, Cheryl Lupo and Debra Weiss. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jordan, and his sister, Bonnie Notaro. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1500 Old York Road, Abington, PA, where relatives and friends will be received from 11:30 AM until the time of the service.
