Obituary of Mary Ann Wherry

Mary Ann Wherry, age 83, died on August 25, 2025. She was a long-time resident of Jenkintown, PA and for the past four years resided in the Rydal Park Retirement Community. Born and raised in Aledo, IL Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Everett Gustafson and the late Mary Zwicker Gustafson. After graduating from High School in 1960, she went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa. She retired in 2012, after a 12-year career with AstraZeneca where she specialized in Instructional Design and Adult Learning and Training. Earlier in her working years, Mary Ann held positions with Loudoun Healthcare, Factor Learning Design and Xerox as a Sales Management Training Consultant. She was a member of Abington Presbyterian Church. In 1976, she began her 22-year membership of Leesburg Presbyterian Church, where she served on the Session and was a Deacon. She was also a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Wyncote, PA from 1999- 2012, and earlier had been a member of First Congressional Church, Manhasset, NY from 1972-1976. Her beloved husband of 54 years, The Reverend Stanley T. Wherry died in 2018. She is survived by her children, Nathan Lair Wherry and Gretchen Anne West. Memorial Service will be held at noon on Thursday, September 18, 2025, Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Road, Abington. A reception will follow the service.
