Joyce K. Nakhjavan of Philadelphia, formerly of Huntingdon Valley passed away peacefully at her home on July 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Fred K. Nakhjavan, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion. A loving mother, she is survived by her children Fred S. Nakhjavan, Jeffrey Nakhjavan (Laura), and Touri Mamrol (David), as well as her six adored grandchildren: Jennifer, Julianne, Christopher, Alicia, Andrew, and Olivia.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Regina and Dan Schlegel and loving sister of Christina Rupert and the late Jeanie Growley.
Joyce was a 1961 graduate of the Albert Einstein School of Nursing in Philadelphia, where she met the love of her life, Fred. Her compassion and commitment to caring for others guided her through her career in nursing and into her years of volunteer service. Joyce generously gave her time as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, the Women's Center of Montgomery County, and the Red Cross disaster relief services, always finding ways to care for those in need.
Joyce's gentle spirit, unwavering kindness and beautiful smile will live on in all that knew and loved her.
A private celebration of life has been held.
