Obituary of Amy E. Gould

Amy E. Gould, age 88, died peacefully on July 14, 2025. She was a long-time resident of Hatboro, PA and for the past 5 years resided at Wesley Enhanced Living. She was the devoted wife of the late James J. Gould. Born in Philadelphia, PA on November 15, 1936, Amy was the daughter of the late S. James McClelland and the late Eleanor Meredith McClelland. She graduated from Hatboro-Horsham High School in 1955 and in 1961 earned her bachelor's degree from Elizabethtown College. She studied Nursing at Presbyterian School of Nursing and graduated in 1960 as an RN. She was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She retired from Upper Moreland School District in 2001 after 25 years working as a school nurse. Early in her RN career, she worked for Presbyterian Hospital and Jeanes Hospital. She was a member of Abington Presbyterian Church since 1948, where she previously served as Deacon. She was a member of Abington Civic Club. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Amy and Ian Beck and James A. and Brenda Gould; three grandsons and 1 great granddaughter. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Road, Abington, where relatives and friends will be received from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Relatives and friends will also be received on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home 1500 Old York Road, Abington. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Abington Presbyterian Church – Music Program, 1082 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001 or to Salvation Army, 701 N.
