I am very thankful to have had such a wonderful aunt, Dr. Ruth Buck. She used to come every year to visit our family in Florida in March, which was her brother David’s birthday. They would always go & watch the Phillies in a spring season game & bring us cinnamon buns & other goodies that we couldn’t buy in Florida at the time. She took me on two wonderful trips, which I will never forget. We went to the Dominican Republic on a trip with Medical Group Missions & also to Pasadena, California to watch the Tournament of Roses Parade & the Rose Bowl football game. I thank the Lord for her Godly influence in my life & also for her generosity.
When I was a child, Ruth was a dear friend to my mother and father. My father had the utmost respect for her. She was always so kind to me. I remember her at my bedside many times when I was sick with fever. What a reassuring presence and strong, compassionate, competent woman.
So many years of friendship so many cherished memories. Rizzo’s pizza, Rook with friends, Phillies games. Tennis tournaments. Camp of the Woods, trips, quiet evenings just chatting, Alaska, her presence at the birth of our daughter and so many more!! My life has been enriched and blessed beyond measure because of Ruth. My beautiful and remarkable Aunt Ruth, doctor, philanthropist, medical missionary, leader, breaker of glass ceilings, world traveler, beloved to so many, made a powerful impact on the world, thousands of lives, and me. A true honor to have her in my life for almost 60 years and to be by her side during her last days. Forever in my heart.
